The shallow waters on Rømø's west-facing beaches are teeming with life. When you sweep the shrimp net along the seabed, it's not just brown shrimp that end up in the net. You may also be lucky enough to catch crabs, brittle stars, small fish, and many other exciting creatures. We only examine the "bycatch" before gently releasing the animals back, but the largest shrimp go into the pot and onto the pan so we can taste them. Shellfish are indeed a real delicacy, so it is worth learning how to peel them.
