Amber grinding and polishing
Quite a lot of amber wash up on the west coast of Rømø island. If you are short of luck finding your own amber you own amber, then come and visit us here at Tønnisgård. We have amber and tools, so you can make your own beautiful amber Jewelry.
If you do not have the luck to find a piece of amber yourself, then come visit us here at Tønnisgård! Here you can choose your own piece of unpolished amber and polish it to a beautiful necklace or a pocket piece. We have amber, sandpaper and a polish cloth and will gladly guide you on how to do it. It is a cozy way of spending time with family and friends, and you get a nice souvenir. In our exhibition you can read and learn more about amber, and you can see a large lump of newly formed amber, also called copal, only 10 million years old, that we got as a gift from a fisherman, who catched it in his net.
So come in – we almost always have time and a spot for you to polish a piece of amber.
