Make a real difference to the natural world
It is estimated that there are already around 150 million tons of waste floating in the ocean, and that an additional 6 million tons is released each year. Approximately 3/4 of the waste is plastic, which nature requires half a century to break down.
Nature is the foundation of our lives, nothing more and nothing less. Therefore, it is, of course, disheartening that waste is left in the nature around us. Nevertheless, it feels good to be a part of a marine litter expedition. Not only can you help to leave nature a bit cleaner, but you will hopefully also gain a couple of enriching nature experiences.
We meet at the Nature Centre Tønnisgård and drive from there in our own cars to an area that needs litter collection.
After the trip, we gather for a cup of coffee or tea and a biscuit, while we look at the day's finds.
