Safety is our top priority
The Wadden Sea is beautiful, but as we all know, the tides wait for no one. That is why our tours are always led by qualified guides who are fully up to speed with the tide tables, know how to read a compass and, of course, are trained in first aid. With us, you are – quite literally – in safe hands.
We look after what we love
For us, it is important that future generations can also experience the magic of the Wadden Sea. We make it a point of honour to look after this sensitive ecosystem whilst we explore it. Our philosophy is simple: We leave only our own footprints in the mud. We take care to respect the birdlife, the animals and the plants, so that nature remains just as wild and beautiful as when we arrived.
Room for everyone
The Wadden Sea is rugged and unpredictable, and the terrain out here is unfortunately not always easy to navigate, with soft sand, mud and uneven forest paths. However, we will go to great lengths to ensure that as many people as possible have a good experience:
If you have difficulty walking or have other needs that require a little extra consideration, please do get in touch with us before your visit. We’ll then discuss what’s possible and see if we can find a good solution or a route that suits your specific situation. Tønnisgaard is an old building, but it is accessible by wheelchair, so please do come along and see our exhibition.
We look forward to giving you a nature experience where both you and the natural environment have been taken into consideration.
