Bunker Rømø: Radar Facility Robbe Nord – In the Heart of the Plantation
In the last years of the war, the strategic and state-of-the-art radar station "Robbe Nord" was built in the northern part of Rømø. Today, the remains of the facility are hidden in the forest floor – including bunkers for the radar installations, searchlights, and anti-aircraft guns. Several of them are still standing, and we will give you access.
For some bunkers, you can go directly in through a door – while others require a bit of courage: at one location, you must crawl through a narrow ventilation tube to get inside.
