The Robbe Nord Radar Site – Hidden in the Forest
In the final years of the war, the strategic, state-of-the-art radar station ‘Robbe Nord’ was built in the northern part of Rømø. Today, the remains of the site lie hidden beneath the forest floor – including bunkers for radar equipment, searchlights and anti-aircraft guns. We have the key to them and over 30 years’ experience in sharing the stories they hold.
Some of the bunkers can be entered through a door – but one of them requires a bit more courage: you’ll have to crawl through a narrow ventilation pipe to get inside.
